Andean Wisdom

The indigenous communities in the high mountains of Peru, the Andes see themselves as the direct descendants of the Inkas. In the Communities in the Andes, Peru the ancient traditions have been kept alive since Inkan- and even Pre-Inkan times. Here spirituality is not separate from daily life, rather it is the basis of all life. Those practices teach us a conscious way of living in harmony, with ourselves and others. By practicing the simple way of living we begin to understand our own being, how to integrate all parts of ourselves and to discover our unique potential.

Ayni - Sacred Reciprocity

The main principle in the Andes is Ayni, sacred reciprocity. It is the cosmic law that leads all interchange. All processes of life are rooted in Ayni. Ayni is reflected in everything – from our relationships to the chemical reactions within all living beings. By learning how to treat Mother Earth with love and respect, we learn how to treat ourselves in a loving and respectful way.

There are two sides to ayni. Giving and Receiving. Living life in conscious Ayni teaches us to give well, that means to learn to be generous and to detach. It also teaches us to receive well, that means to develop humility.

The world of living energies

According to the Andean People we live in the Kawsay Pacha, the world of living energies. “Kawsay” means living energies and “Pacha” means Time and Space. Kawsay describes the vital, living energies that moves the cosmos. It is expressed in light living energies called “sami” and dense living energies called “hucha”. The Andean tradition teaches us to live in a harmonious, conscious and joyful way by teaching us to identify the quality of energy that is in our field or our surroundings and making the energies flow again.

Sami

Sami are the light living energies that are flowing and compatible with us. Sami can be experienced as flow, joy, graditude, effortlessness and harmony

Hucha

Hucha are the heavy energies that are not serving us. It is important to highlight that these energies are not bad, but simply not compatible for us. Sometimes these energies can be felt in blocks or stuckness.
